Shi Year of the Dragon # 1 Ashcan 358/499

$6,187.38

Autographed & Numbered by William (Billy) Tucci

Certified & Appraised by the Ana Ishikawa SHI Gallery

This artifact may be the only one of an extremely small number of surviving artifacts of its kind. This level of extreme rarity places it in the high value art investment market.

It is more rare than a Pablo Picasso artifact.

The Ana Ishikawa SHI Gallery has verified the authenticity of this artifact by performing an exhaustive quality validation process that includes multipoint signature verification, verification of genuine materials and craftsmanship, and quality validation certification using state of the art technology and industry expertise.

The Year of the Dragon three-issue miniseries takes us back to 1988, where 17-year-old high school student Ana Ishikawa tries to save her best friend, Yoko, from the dangerous lifestyle of a motorcycle “Speed Tribe.”

Yoko descends down a dark and deadly spiral of drugs, violence and prostitution. Ana learns that the opium den that Yoko has been frequenting is owned by the Yakuza Kingpin, Masahiro Arashi, the same man who murdered her family years before.

In a desperate attempt to rescue Yoko, and thirsting for vengeance, Ana sets her sights on a strategy for total war!

The question is: will this sailor uniform-clad sweetie be able to save Yoko’s life against the mighty Yakuza?

Will Ana be able to survive The Year of the Dragon?

Shi: The Year of the Dragon was penciled and colored in the “Pop Art” style of the late 80s icon, Patrick Nagel. It was Nagel who first inspired Tucci to draw women and was the inspiration for the cover of Shi: Senryaku #1.

Co-writing with Tucci on this incredible “Year One” story arc is Shi: Senryaku author, Gary Cohn.

Gary’s cerebral, hard-boiled writing style has been delighting comic fans since creating The Blue Devil for DC Comics in 1984!

The art team rounds out with Wolverine/Shi inker Rich Perrotta, whose sensitive brush lines compliment Tucci’s sensual illustrations perfectly!
